TAVISTOCK made the journey across the Tamar in search of points in an early kick off mid-table clash against a Torpoint side who many feel have been punching above their weight this season. The game proved to be an edgy affair with both defences generally in control. The game ebbed and flowed but it was Torpoint who drew first blood when the league's top scorer Adam Carter pounced to continue his fine scoring record. Tavistock continued to battle and got their reward when Lee Ireland fired home from 25 yards to equalise and secure a deserved point. On reflection both sides will probably feel that all three points eluded them and for the visitors it was their first draw of fhe season. l On Saturday the Lambs entertain Witheridge at Langsford Park for a 2.30pm kick off. This is a landmark game for Tavistock keeper Andy Meeds, who will be making his 600th game for the club. This is a tremendous show of loyalty in today's game by Andy and it provides an opportunity for local football supporters, players and former players to come along and show their appreciation for the popular keeper, either at the game or at a special presentation for him at the Red and Black Club in the evening from 7pm.
