WITH reference to Catherine Trafford-Smith’s letter in last week’s Times the actual figure for the proposed new dwellings in Tavistock is 2,250, not just 750.

Devon County’s submission to the Heart of the South West Local Transport Board to justify the proposed £30-million scheme to rebuild the five and a half miles of railway from Bere Alston to Tavistock, clearly states that ‘..the railway will unlock LDF development which includes 1,500 homes across Tavistock as a whole and 750 homes in an urban extension adjacent to the railway..’ 1,500 plus 750 makes 2,250. The document is online, for anybody to see.

I have written about this before and am really surprised that nobody in Tavistock seems to have picked up on it, given what a huge difference it is likely to make to the town.
