A JUNIOR triathlon event was held at Meadowlands in Tavistock for swim, bicycle ride and run.

Six children took part and the age range was from 7-11 years with a variety of different distances being accomplished. The day started with light drizzle but this did not dampen any enthusiasm.

The children taking part attend weekly sessions at Meadowlands training in all aspects of triathlon.

The swim was in Meadowlands pool with the bike and the run was around the safety of the Meadows.

Although they found the triathlon event hard, they thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Clare Short, who is a qualified triathlon England coach, runs the Junior Triathlon Club at Meadowlands.
