Newquay Queen Bees U15s 19
Tavistock girls U15s 19
THE end of the first half resulted in two good tries for Newquay both converted, answered by two tries by Lily Mills for Tavistock with one conversion giving Newquay a 14-12 lead.
The second half was evenly matched with good work in the scrum by Tavistock's Chloe Dawe, Alice Mills-Hicks, Jess Tait, Lizzie Crocker and Lydia Roisseter. Newquay scored a converted try to give them a 19-12 lead. There were excellent runs by Eleanor Mills, Rosie Crosby, Lily Hillson, Lauren Abel and Lily Mills for the visitors.
In the final minutes a Tavistock scrum deep in the Newquay half resulted in a try from straight down the left wing by Tilly Cole – her first try of the season.
The last kick of the game was to be a conversion by Lily Mills. It was a tight angle from the side line and difficult wind conditions but an incredible kick resulted in a successful conversion and 19-19 draw.

Okehampton U12s 47
Teignmouth U12s 7
OKEHAMPTON brushed off the disappointment of the result last week with an emphatic victory. Not wanting to end the season on a low note, Okehampton started strongly, racking up several phases of the ball through good rucking and deft offloads.
This pattern was to be repeated again and again throughout the match as Okehampton put in a total team performance.
Okehampton ran in seven tries by Nathan (2), Mo, Tom S and Daichi (3). Arguably the best of these being a solo effort by Daichi as he retrieved his own kick to make a dash for the line.
But it was the total team effort that should be applauded, with particular mentions for great runs by Will, tireless defence by Daniel and great scrummaging by Brad and Alex.
The last words though should go to Immy, the only girl in the team, who through RFU rules has unfortunately played her last home game for Okehampton. Never one to shy away from tackles, Immy will be missed by players, coaches and supporters alike.

Tavistock U12s 17
TWO great wins at the end of a successful weekend tour to Cornwall, saw the Tavistock U12s extremely happy with their work.
The forwards worked consistently to win the ball and this led to a quick thinking Ollie Noy Scott scoring the first try.
Inspired play by Zac Gorton saw another try in a few minutes later after Archie Allen and Morgan Turnock had put the work in to secure the ball.
The second half saw a third try for Tavistock which sealed the win.
Wadebridge U12s 0
Tavistock U12s 28
THE second game was at first more evenly matched with Wadebridge. A superb clearance by Jude White, who chased for the ball the length of the pitch, collected off his own kick before passing to Peter Bull to score the first try for Tavistock.
The captaining by Luke Lewandowski was excellent, geeing up his team while John Lord always kept the forwards motivated. Three more tries were scored in the second half by Tavistock ending a superb weekend with two wins.
Wadebridge Camels U11s 14
Tavistock U11s 35
BOTH teams adopted a go forward attitude and entertained the crowd with a great display of junior rugby. Strongly contested rucks and some great offloading kept the game flowing in both directions.
Tavistock took the lead through Edward Tait and this was quickly followed by Noah Berridge bursting out of a Tavistock maul to dive over the line. A third was added after a powerful run by Ben McKenzie found some space wide with Edward Tait once again in the right place for a pass and a score,
Wadebridge rallied and came at the visitors in the second half pulling back a try from a five metre penalty.
Tavistock, however, added two more - one from James Roisseter after some sterling maul work by Reuben Coleman, who fed James to go over the line and the other from fellow lock Matt Davey spying a gap and powering through for Tavistock's fifth try.
Not to be outdone Wadebridge never gave up and put a second over in the last few minute after some intense pressure.
Tavistock backs James Kenyon, Tom Scott and Luke Wise worked hard in attack moving the ball well but especially in defence. Scrum half Dan Pett kept the possession well while Cameron Hart was unfortunate not to score after being thwarted by a crunching tackle from a Camel player. All five conversions were scored by Edward Tait.
n TAVISTOCK U9s took part in the first competitive Devon Festival and played some compelling rugby.
In the first stage they were in the unusual position of being in a group of four teams, but only playing two of them.
The first match was a tight encounter against Barnstaple, the eventual cup winners, with Tavistock losing by 3-0 in tries. Despite Tavistock then convincingly beating the eventual plate winners Topsham in their next match, they finished third in the group because Topsham scored more points in their win against Exeter Chiefs.
In the shield Tavistock went on to beat OPM in the quarter finals and Brixham in the semi-finals before facing Tiverton in the final. By this stage of the competition Tavistock were scoring lots of tries and their defence was impenetrable. Tavistock deservedly won the final 5-0 to lift the shield.
