Straight from the start Lily M, Fen and Lizzie took on their larger opponents. Chloe and Alice led the scrum well with Rosie starting at hooker and this led to some good ball for Lily H in her new role at scrum half. Lily M went really close twice, but just failed to ground the ball then just before time the Services centre forced her way through a gap and scored a converted try In the second half Services scored straight away but Tavistock never give up. South Molton U14s 12 Okehampton  U14s 22 OKEHAMPTON  applied pressure straight from the kick off by kicking deep in to the far corner and kept South Molton there for the next 10 minutes. Great counter rucking by South Molton kept Oke out until Daniel Thorne darted over in the corner for the first try. Okehampton forwards began to up their rucking game. Jake Lawson crashed over five mins later to score his first try for the club. Okehampton scored again to make it 17 -0 at half time. In the second half Oke had to play up the steep slope. After a good steal by Jonnie King the ball was spun out wide to Jack Raymond who ran in to score. South Molton scored the next two tries. This was another good team performance by Oke. Launceston U13 22 Okehampton U13 5 AN Okehampton side, lacking several regulars in the backline, eventually ran out of steam after a brave first half effort. The first half was an even affair as Oke competed well at the breakdown but lacked fluidity. Launceston opened the scoring midway through the half after a succession of knock ons went unnoticed. Oke drew level before the break with a try for the industrious Greg Daniel, who had another good game at the base of the scrum. Oke started the second half lacking their earlier intensity. Too often their ball carriers were isolated as support failed to materialise, and the visitors failed to pass effectively when the opportunities arose. Slack blindside defence allowed the All Blacks side to cross for three more tries to gain a deserved victory, although the scoreline was a flattering one. n Oke U13ss on Sunday are at home in the Devon plate semi- final against Stonehouse Sharks, kick-off 11am. Tavistock U12s 12 Crediton U12s 0 A DRY sunny day saw a well worked win from Tavistock. The home side played up the slight slope in the first half saw and it was 0-0 at half time. In the second half, Tavistock had the slope and the forwards pressed on winning the ball in the scrum and at the ruck.  Olly Noy Scott nipped clear to score the first try after Lordy, Joe, Morgan, Tom and the Archies had gained the yardage. Sensible kicking from Jack, and a quick defensive line in the backs by Lochlan, James and Luke greatly helped the team performance. The team kept the ball alive really well near the Crediton line and this helped secure the second try, taken over the line by Zac. Player of the match for Tavistock was shared between Jack Smyly and Zac Gorton. Okehampton U12s 7 Launceston U12s 0 OKEHAMPTON began well winning several of the initial line outs and scrums but seemed unable to convert this into any territory win. Nathan worked hard to win the ball and passed swiftly to DaiChi who made a superb run before he passed to Immy and onto Tom S. Daniel in support took the pass, dived over the line for a try; Mo converted. Launceston replied with some good ball handling and found touch perfectly on several occasions, resulting in them gaining important ground, as possession went back and forth. James with an 'up and under' kept the ball alive for Oke while Nathan showed a good reading of the game and Tom S impressed in midfield. Launceston were denied a try after some hard tacking from Kai at scrum half. It was well matched, with Oke determined to hold on for their first win over Launceston. Oke worked hard in the line outs and scrums with solid performances from all the pack were supported by frantic defensive work from the backs. Okehampton U12s 7 Wimborne U12s 21 FROM the kick off, Okehampton were caught napping, allowing the touring side to burst though for an early try and conversion. Repeated missed tackles and some poor support play from Oke meant that Wimborne kept possession and passing the ball out well onto the wings, scored a second try. Dai Chi for Oke weaved through the opposition defence with several well timed runs but Oke failed to convert these into tries. Winning the ball at the next line out, Nathan pushed forward to touchdown for Oke, which was converted by Mo. Callum played well at full back while Tom S was strong at running the ball and gaining invaluable ground, with support from Jim and Immy. Straight after half time, Wimborne scored but Oke rallied once more but for no reward in the second half. Tavistock U11s 56 Crediton U11s 7 FROM the start Tavistock took the game to Crediton and two minutes of intense pressure paid off after a tap penalty gave Ben Mckenzie the chance to power over the line. Not to be outdone Crediton scored an almost identical try at the other end. A fairly equal set piece and rucking battle ensued but Tavistock's strength in the forwards and cunning in the backs soon started to tell as the home side pulled away with Noah Berridge scoring from a quick tap and go before the Crediton defence could reorganise. This was followed by some superb backs work leading to two tries from Henry Varndell-Dawes and Matt Davey, the second after an inspired rip from Harry Edwards. After leading 28-7 at half time Tavistock continued to let rip in the second half. Solid scrum half work from Dan Pett and Tom Persse gave Tavistock some quick ball.
