Okehampton U16s 53
Tavistock U16s 0
OKEHAMPTON flattered to deceive in this battle of the moorlanders as they started superbly but their performance somewhat petered out to a regulation victory.
The home side were denied a try in the fifth minute due to a forward pass but from the resultant scrum Ollie Francis touched down and Lewis Taylor converted with a fine kick. Straight from the kick off Oke's kept up the heat as skipper, Ryan Gross made big yards enabling Conor Stevens to cross the line. to make it 12 -0 after 12 minutes. Lewis Taylor was the next to cross the try line as he became the beneficiary of a fine run from Declan Coyle. Further pressure on the visitors line paved the way for Coyle to score the first of his two; the boot of Taylor made it 26-0.
The next score came through Frank Smith with the first of his brace and was the culmination of a sweeping team try. Declan Coyle bagged his second as the Oke's stole good ball deep inside Tavy's 22 and a great pop pass from Rhys Palmer put him over in the corner.
A dominant first half was completed with Frank Smith dotting down under the posts following a superb break from Ollie Francis down the right flank to put the home side 43 – 0 to the good.
In the second half Okehampton took their foot off the gas and cruised through to an inevitable victory. The only name on the score sheet during the second period was Rhys Palmer as he touched down two unconverted scores, both through sniping runs down the blindside.
In truth though it could've been a much larger margin of victory as the Okes completely dominated their rivals in all facets of the game. Credit though to Tavistock, who never gave in.

Okehampton U14s 59
Exeter Chiefs U14s 0
OKEHAMPTON started strongly, the forwards showing their dominance. However, the Oke backs were a bit slower while the Chiefs struggled with the larger runners of the opposition pack and their committed pick and drives. Once the tries started coming it wasn't a question of when but how many?
The Chiefs never gave up and contested everything for the whole game.
In the second half the Okehampton backs found their hands and began to stretch the Chiefs' defence. Oke's Oliver King opted to play for the opposition after an injury to one of the Exeter players. Not to let his team mates or his brother get the better of him, he put in a sound performance and showed great team spirit. This was another solid performance by the Okehampton team.
Oke try scorers: Johnny King, Daniel Thorn (3), Liam Pyle (3), Jack Dickinson and Joe Mawle. Conversions Daniel Thorne and Liam Pyle.
Okehampton U13s 0
Exeter Chiefs U13s 24
OKEHAMPTON U13s produced their worst performance of the season as they fell to a poor defeat against a buoyant Chiefs outfit, a side they had never previously lost to.
The Oke boys completely failed to turn up in the first half, and found themselves four tries down at the break after an inept display in all aspects. Barring the odd spark from the lively Henry Harbourne at full back, Oke's stand out player, they failed to create any openings of their own and did not defend well when the opposition had possession.
24-0 down at the break, the Okes did at least keep their try line intact in the second half, but only came close to scoring once themselves. Their effort was disallowed though as Joseph Stratton was adjudged not have grounded his kick and chase effort.

Ivybridge U12s 50
Tavistock U12s 7
DESPITE the score, it was smiles at the end of a hard game which galvanised
the Tavistock team.
A well drilled Ivybridge showed why they are one of the best teams in Devon, breaking the Tavistock defence. However, the work ethic and heart from the Tavistock lads could not be faulted and tremendous pressure at the end of the first half so nearly brought them a try.
It was through the efforts of John Lord, Jason Blake, Jacob Holberg, Tom Pearson and Archie Allen in the scrum, that did bring about a well worked and well earned try in the second half.
The pack kept winning the ball and the backs moved it quickly from one side to the other, opening up a gap for Jack Smyly to score in the corner. A huge number of tackles were put in by Tavistock. A superb effort was put in by Zac Gorton, Luke Lewandowski, George Kharas, Olly Noy Scott and Jacob Staig. Lochlan Fulton made the tackle of the match while Jacob Holberg was superb.

WITHIN seconds of the whistle Exeter stormed over the try line to score, catching the home side completely off guard.
The game began again, this time with Okehampton prepared and ready to defend.
The whole Oke team worked together winning scrum after scrum and ruck after ruck. Finally determination paid off and Nathan (3) made it over the line to even the score. At the end of the first half the score was level at 7-7.
In the second half Okehampton dominated play and using foresight Kai lifted the ball from the back of a ruck and flipped it to Brad S who spun it out to Tom S (1) and he powered over the line to answering Chiefs' second try.
Great low tackling from Daniel kept the visitors at bay and relentless hooking in the scrums from Joe was impressive to watch.
The way the team worked together it was only a matter of time before James (1) slipped through to cross the line scoring the final try.
Tavistock U11s 35
Ivybridge U11s 0

Ivybridge exerted pressure but the Tavistock pack started to win ball and push into opposition half with more confidence and they broke the deadlock with a try from Noah Berridge after a long clearance kick from Henry Varndell –Dawes and some patient ruck work by the pack.
The second half saw Tavistock step up several gears. Dan Pett and Edward Tait combined well and controlled the game from the half back positions with some intelligent kicking from Henry.

Will Cunningham took the the high kicks well at fullback while Daniel Wonnacott set up several attacks.
Exeter tried to rally in the first half scoring a try of their own but the Oke`s pack responded by lifting their game which swung the momentum back in the home side. Real teamwork and discipline won the game for Oke in a superb performance.

Tavistock U10s 5 tries
Withycombe U10s 0 tries
ON a narrow pitch Tavistock played a tight rucking and mauling game, This allowed Toby and Daniel to make big holes in the opposition and they both scored tries.
Some great tacking from Toby L, Ewan, Katherine and Isaac kept Withycombe at bay. Logan and Toby responded well but on three or four occasions, went for the line when a pass was the better opton.
After half time Daniel tore through to score again for Tavistock and then off loaded to Toby L, with a chance to score his first try. Just as he reached for the line he was tackled and just missed out.
Towards the end a great move by Tavistock went the whole length of the pitch with Matt, Ewan and Isaac involved before Toby scored. Daniel then scored again after a fine run.
Tavistock U10s 4 tries
Withycombe U10s 2 tries
THIS was a much tighter affair between the teams. Matthew and Ewan for Tavistock got more ball and had some great runs, but Withycombe took the lead.
Katherine showed great running over 20 minutes and scored her first try for the club in her third year. The team took pleasure in seeing her rewarded with a try.

Tavistock U9s 6 tries
Ivybridge U9s 8 tries
TAVISTOCK played a high tempo passing game while Ivybridge took a direct, physical approach.
This was great experience for Tavistock who could easily have won the game. In defence their back line was the best seen all season. In attack they took the ball at speed, inviting contact and then offloading rather than individuals taking everyone on. Tavistock were very unlucky to lose in a game they dominated territorially.
Captain Toby Noy Scott was their player of the match for his leadership and powerful try. Other scorers were Joe Wheeldon and Liam Watt with two each and Jonathan Griffiths.
Tavistock U9s 2 tries
Ivybridge U9s 10 tries
IVYBRIDGE played to their strengths but a changed Tavistock team did not really get organised until late on.
Despite being compre-hensively beaten to their credit the Tavistock boys tried their hardest to the end. Ollie Pett who was captain scored a try, while their player of the match Ben Pitts added a second. Overall this was a good lesson for Tavistock and if they continue to play passing rugby they will make far more progress as a team.

THIS was a closely fought game. Oke, captained by Dan who scored one try, saw Archie S catch the Chiefs offguard with two quick tags in succession and also score one try. Again the quick recovery and passing after being tagged showed the quick thinking from Ben to Alex to Josh and back to Ben who then went on to score. Ben and Archie worked very well together. Alex ran the width and length of the pitch for one of his five tries. Toby was always in the game too. This was a good performance by all.
