Matt went on to get Tavistock's second try, which he converted himself.
Devonport Services worked hard with some great play from their number eight Josh Greenlees. 20 minutes in Tavistock scored a third try, this time down the right wing from captain Charlie and soon added fourth from Tom.
Devonport defended well with their number six Matt Carwithen putting in some crunching tackles and Services finished the first half scoring an unconverted try.

Tavistock's Callun Townsend took the ball over for a fifth try early in the second half. From a Services kick off, Brad Lee-Scott caught the ball deep in his own half and passed to Charlie who managed a good solo try. Ollie Wood nearly made the try line but was foiled by Services's defence. Tavistock's final try came from a storming run by Jack Base, who made the line down the left wing.
This was a good match, entertaining to watch and despite the score, Services showed determination throughout and some good individual talents.
Tavistock U15's have been playing well and have developed a strong squad showing strength in depth and a whole team presence on the pitch.

(match abandoned)
IMMEDIATE pressure from the kick off saw the majority of the first quarter played in the Okehampton half. The Paignton backs were allowed to play quite openly, with the Oke slow to close down the runs. Some poor tackling compounded the problem and eventually the Paignton winger squeezed in at the corner; the conversion made it 0-7.
The next ten minutes of play were almost a repeat of the first, with the Paignton winger on the other side dotting down in the corner. Another accurate distance kick, this time from the opposite touchline saw Oke 14 points to the worse.
Unfortunalely more poor tackling from the Oakes, another touchdown this time right under the posts and they were 21 points down.
Then an inspirational run from Luke Shinn from well inside the Okehampton half, finished off with a pinpoint chip over the last defender whom he then outsprinted to touchdown, brought the scores closer at half time.
The second half started well and Oke pressured from off. An offside from Paignton saw a penalty awarded on their own 22. Some indiscipline and they were penalised to back a further 10 metres. Okehampton siezed the chance. Brandon Horn flipped the ball to Ben Arnold who crashed through the Paignton defence to touchdown. Unfortunately as part of this play one of the Paignton boys suffered an injury that needed serious medical attention and and eventually the game was abandoned.

ON a perfect day for rugby both sides were slow to start but
Okehampton started the stronger. The Oke scrum started to function and the maul's started to go forward.
The visitors were soon to be rewarded with their first points of the day. This rallied the whole team and they started to apply the pressure on the home side.
Jake Lawson was unlucky having two tries disallowed.
Paignton did not lie down though and scored two tries of their own catching the Okehampton side napping.
This was another good solid performance from the Okehampton U14s, gelling together, working as a team and winning as a team.

Okehampton U13s 46
Paignton U13s 0
ON a wet, muddy pitch, Okehampton were comfortable winners despite producing an error ridden performance.
Both sides started with reduced numbers at 10 a side. Handling errors abounded as the home side failed to use the ball effectively, insisting on taking contact instead of letting the ball do the work. This coupled with a penchant for the narrow side instead of the wide open spaces, saw Oke lead only 17-0 at the interval thanks to tries from Greg Daniel (2) and Henry Harbourne. Leon Horn converting one try.
Down the slope in the second period, Oke did improve slightly, but were still guilty of greed at times and not opting for the corners. Second half tries were gathered by Jack Ogbourne, Leon Horn (2), Corey Holliday and Ethan Hoggins who wrapped up the win with the last score. Leon Horn managed two conversions out of the mud.

CONDITIONS were perfect and all the recent hard work put in by the Tavistock pack in training paid dividends. Clean ball was delivered from the scrum and determined effort and close support kept Tavistock ahead in open play from the outset. Although a height disadvantage between the respective packs presented difficulties for Tavistock in the lineout, organisation and commitment in all other areas won through.
Quick scrum ball saw the first Tavistock try with superb hands through the backs seeing Reuben in at the corner. Al's successful conversion at maximum distance was outstanding.
Brixham's big pack came back hard and despite ferocious tackling from Max, Bailey, Jake and player of the match Joe Dawe, a conceded penalty saw them drive in for five points.
However a great Tavistock pack effort against the head opened the Brixham defence leaving Ed all the space he needed to run in under the post to make it 14-5 to half-time.
The restart saw Tavistock continue the great work with repeated attacking breaks by the backs. Brixham's determined defensive could not hold, finally breaking with Ed scoring his second try.
The Brixham defence could not match Joe P with his blinding pace on the right wing as he ran in a beautiful solo try from halfway.
Brixham never gave up and in the last 10 minutes great defensive work by Tavistock kept them firmly at bay until a conceded penalty gave Brixham one last chance.
The forward charge was initially held out for a 5m scrum but when this provided clean ball Brixham were in for five well deserved consolation points.

ALL players stood respectfully for the two minutes silence for Remembrance Day then readied themselves to play an entertaining game of rugby. Paignton quickly set the pace and dominated all rucking, taking every opportunity to push the ball towards the opposition's try line.
Discipline was a little lapse and the home team gave away a penalty which was quickly taken and Oke's gained valuable ground. However, Paignton's defence brought down Oke's who took the ball down and was turned over allowing Paignton to score their first try.
Consistent kicking from Paignton's flyhalf saw all their tries successfully converted. George proved a reliable full back for Oke, getting right under the high balls to secure them. Tom S made a great break from close to Paignton's try line and ran half the length of the pitch but again was brought down, the ball stolen and kicked back up field.
With another penalty in Oke's favour, Kai took a quick tap and go and took the ball down the blindside for an opportune try drawing the score level. The first half ended 7-7 all.
In the second half Paignton stamped their mark and using all the team passed the ball out to the wing, consistently, enabling them to score three more times. Oke's kept their heads up and Nathan's perseverance finally paid off with another try for Okehampton.
