BOTH teams opened strongly with well matched packs contesting the ball. Tavistock demonstrated great passing down the line with Okehampton bundling Joe Sellars into touch.
Ollie Wood put in a solid performance as full back for Tavistock with Charlie, Fethney, Bert Rodgers, Harvey Curtin and Will Paul displaying great skills in the line with impressive running play. It was Charlie who put Tavistock into the lead. Rucking from forwards Callum Cunningham, Alex Lewandowski and Joe Holbrook allowed Ollie Wood to hold the ball in a maul and assisted by Harvey Curtin allowed him to score Tavistock's second try just before half time.
In the second half Okehampton opened strongly but then Tavistock hit their stride. Bert Rodgers chased down a kick from Ollie Wood, moving play into the Oke half. A five metre scrum saw Tavistock gain the advantage and cooperative play from Luke Dean, Joe Sellars and Charlie Fethney allowed Will Paul to race away and score under the posts.
A short time later a mishandled ball from Okehampton allowed Will Paul to score again with a blistering run to the try line. Harry Dunlop was on target for all but two of the conversions.
The visitors returned with vigour in the latter part of the game, keeping Tavistock back in their half. Despite Okehampton having a player sent off in the final minutes they scored a try.
Tavistock were outstanding in this game with great scrums with special mention to Harvey Curtin, Morgan Warnett, Hardy Hopkinson and Alec Hampden-Smith.

THE game was hard fought from the off with both sides scrapping for every yard. Tavistock perhaps had the edge and ran in two tries before half time.
The second half saw no let up in the pace, but the home side continued to capitalise, and ran in two further tries. Okehampton finished with a consulation try, literally on the final whistle.

OKEHAMPTON were victorious in a tight encounter on a steeply sloping pitch.
The visitors played up the incline in the opening period and struck early. Leon Horn crossed to open the scoring with a solo try converted by Corey Holliday. The tight confines of the pitch resulted in little room for either side as the score remained 7-0 at the break.
Okehampton's dominant set scrum gave them a good platform in the second half as they spent long periods camped on the Tavistock line. Eventually the pressure told as Greg Daniel forced his way over from short range; Leon Horn added the extra two points. Good defence, with some ferocious hits from Greg Daniel and Adam Wonnacott in particular, meant that late Tavistock attacks were repelled and the Okes ran out 14-0 winners.

TAVISTOCK continued their unbeaten run in 2012 with a close victory over Okehampton.
Both teams started well but it was Tavistock that took the early lead with good work from the backs and a try from full back Jude White.
Brynmor kept his eye on the ball and fed the backs some excellent balls which Jacob and Luke used wisely. Player of the match Lochlan Fulton went over after some good footwork to put Tavistock 14-0 up.
Okehampton worked a good try but good forward play from the Archie, Jason and Tom secured ball for another Tavistock try by Jude to make it 21-7 half time.
The second half saw a lovely chip from Jacob Staig which allowed Lochlan to run onto the ball to score his second try. However, Okehampton quickly scored two tries which put the pressure back on. It was some resolute tackling that secured the win, from Zac, Jack, Jason, Morgan, Cian and Aiden. Special credit for Tyler and Olly for their commitment to the team and support for a closely fought game played in the right spirit.

THIS local derby was dominated by a well disciplined Okehampton team. Their dominance at the breakdown and set piece kept Tavy on the back foot for most of the first half.
Okehampton found gaps in the home defence to run in two tries in the first half. Tavistock responded with some strong running from the forwards – Dylan Owen, Harry Richardson and Cameron Georgel and some probing runs from backs – Ollie Sampson, and Henry Varndell-Dawes but were met by a solid wall of tackles.
The second half saw Tavistock step up a gear and Noah Berridge ran in an early try after a rip from a maul. Tavy started to push forward more successfully but were held up twice over the line. This attacking push left Tavistock exposed to some great sidestepping runs from the sharp Oke backs, allowing them to run in three more tries in a well deserved win.

BOTH teams attacked well but also missed tackles in this end-to-end contest. Both Harry Edwards and James Kenyon for Tavistock scored almost identical tries from long runs down opposite wings.
Jack Lancashire was strong in midfield along with Ollie Sampson making some telling tackles. Okehampton's sharp running gave them two tries.
Tom Gardener almost popped the winning try over in the last second, only to be thwarted by a foot in touch just before the line. A great show of spirit from both teams in a fiercely fought contest.

FROM the start both teams tackled well and the deadlock was broken by tries from Billy, Tom (2) and Isaac. Theodore replied with a score for
Okes to make the score 4-1 in tries at half time. Okehampton rucked and mauled well and tackled well in defence.
For Tavistock the support play and general level of fitness gave them the edge, with Josh and Toby L making their debuts and acquitting themselves well.
In the second half, Theodore continued to threaten the Tavistock line and scored another try. However, Logan, Toby and Tom started to carry the ball well, and this opened up opportunities for Oscar and Dan.
In the second half he score two tries as well as Billy, Isaac and Ewan.
Okehampton never gave up but tired towards the end.

In the second game, the full squad played a full part and Okehampton,
refreshed, came back very strongly. At half time the score was 3-2
to Okehampton, led by captain Jay Jenkins.
Marcus, Tasha, Jon and Oscar for Tavistock all carried the ball well,
but a few tackles were missed on the Okehampton wingers. Isaac and Tom restored a Tavistock lead and again the squad strength shone through as Tavistock won comfortably.
Theodore Jackson-Clist score scored three times for Oke. Despite losing Okehampton acquitted themselves well.

TAVISTOCK showed great support play in an evenly contested match with both sides playing great rugby.
Marcus was made captain for Oke and showed great leadership skills in keeping the defensive line straight and pressure on the Tavistock attack.
Scorers for the visitors were Marcus (3) Holly (2) Jacob (2) and Matthew Westlake who scored his first try for Okehampton . The whole team gave 100% with fine displays from Milo, Llew and Cameron .
Jack Lane was captain for Tavistock and Joe Wheldon scored three tries for the home side.

THE second game was dominated by Okehampton's stronger runners and straighter lines of attack. Tavistock put up a very determined defence but the young Okes were playing theit best game of the season.
Alex was made captain for Oke and along side his team mates scored many fine tries. Oke scorers were Joe (5) Aidan (2) Alex (2) Morgan (2) and Issac. Alex Smith did well as captain for Tavistock as did Jared Hunter. Try scorers for Tavistock were Ted Kenyon, Oliver Hawkins, Liam Watts, Alex Richardson, Alex Piper, Tommy Murrin, Jonathan Griffiths and Jared Hunter.

BOTH teams gave everyone a good run on the muddy ground. The young Okehampton side worked hard against and never gave up attacking the home boys and the were unlucky not to score more. Oke tries were scored by Adam (2) and Alex (1). There were outstanding performances from Shea, Dan, Saul, Lachlann, Josh, Ben and Grady.

IN another fast paced game with everyone working well together again. Oke tries were scored by Archie S (1), Owen (2), Toby (1) and Grady (2). Owen and Grady both put in determined runs and everyone worked hard to get the result. Tagging and backup provided by Jacob, Archie G, Chris and Max.

AS everyone was already covered in mud it was decided that a little bit more wouldn't hurt! Oke tries were scored by Adam (1) and Shea (1) with a good effort by both teams.
