Tavistock U14s 24
Wadebridge U14s 24
THIS match was close from the start to the close of play on Sunday and proved a good team performance by the home side.
Ollie had an outstanding game kicking long running strong and scoring twice, while captain Charlie led from the back of the scrum and kept hope alive when it looked like in the last few minutes Wadebridge might walk away with a win.
Praise must be given to the Tavistock tight five, with the front row of Callum, Morgan and Jo outstanding and outrageous especially the latter's cheeky try with an outstretched hand reaching the ball just onto the try line.
The visitors showed some real flare in an entertaining match well refereed by J T Kirk.

TAVISTOCK, with the sun on their backs and the wind behind them, came out firing on all cylinders right from the start. Two quick tap penalties saw the ball moved through the hands of both forwards and backs enabling Ben M to go over for two early tries.
The front row of Cameron, Chris and Harry began to dominate the scrums and Theo, Steve and Richard stole most of the ball at the line outs. A surging run from Callum set up a ruck deep in Wadebridge territory and the ball was whipped through the hands of Alex, Ethan and Dan out to Bernie on the wing who scored in the corner. Shortly after, Billy went over from a well caught clearance kick and James added a fifth try just before the interval.
Replacement props Steve and Greg helped Tavistock continue to dominate the set piece and early in the second half a run from the half way line by Ben G set up a maul from which Will G recycled the ball to Callum who went over to score.
Wadebridge responded quickly with a try before a great move by the backs saw the ball go through the hands of Laurence to Tei on the wing who scored his first try for Tavistock on debut.
Wadebridge began to tire and were unable to cope with George's searing pace up the hill and he scored two late tries.

Okehampton U12s 14
OKEHAMPTON side travelled with only 12 players for this away match by the sea. The side did not get off the bus in the first ten minutes and found themselves 14 points down in the first ten minutes. Slowly Oke began to awake from their slumbers and worked their way back into the match through a try from Greg Daniel, who peeled off a maul for Leon Horn to convert.
Despite reducing the arrears Okehampton continued to lack any precision in their passing game, and too often tackled way too high against bulky opponents.
At 14-7 at half time, despite not using the wind behind them, Oke were still in it. However a high penalty count against them eventually told. Exmouth crossed for two more scores before strong running Greg Daniel plundered his second for the visitors shortly before the end of the match. Corey Holliday added the conversion.
This was a disappointing encounter for Okehampton U12s.
n Okehampton's next game is away to West Devon rivals Tavistock.

BOTH teams put in an impressive performance but from the start Tavistock had the upper hand with a powerful scrum containing John, Joe, Morgan, Jason, Archie A, Archie T and Alex.
In the first half, there was a superb try by Tavistock hooker, Jason, when he powered through and over the line. Within minutes full back Jude made a storming run down the wing to score their second try, which was then converted by Joe.
Brixham then pulled one back, by the inside centre sneaking through the defence line and then followed it up with another second try just after.
It was a close game but Tavistock struck back with Jude
scoring another try, which was successfully converted. Momentum then swung to Tavstock who then upped their game, scoring three more tries by Tom and Lochlan - which were all converted.
Brixham scored one more try but it was too little to late. Great Tavistock defence and built up by Zak, George, Jacob and Luke led to a final push with Archie T scoring the final try with just seconds to spare.

Okehampton U11s 35
OKEHAMPTON got off to a slow start, with a lot of penalties going against them in the first ten minutes. They managed to keep their discipline but Exmouth proved too fast and were first to score.
It looked as though a second try was imminent for the home side but a well-timed tackle from Will R pushed Exmouth into touch.
Oke then lost the line out and Exmouth took advantage and scored their next try to make it 14-0.
The visitors dug deep and were rewarded by an Okehampton try from Nathan T, which was converted by James M. Some strong running from the backs allowed Okehampton to stretch the Exmouth defence, and eventually Nathan was able to get through again to score (and convert).
Okehampton upped their game at this stage, kicking well and with solid performances from all of the forwards. Aggressive and sustained tackling led to increased possession and Nathan was over for his third try, which he converted. Daniel T worked well with his first time in the line outs, stealing ball and helping Oke to their fourth try by Nathan T and conversion.
The ball was again won by Oke in a line out and a well-placed ball allowed Dai Chi B to pick up and dive over the line for Oke's final try, converted by James.
This continues Oke's winning streak.

As halfbacks Will Cunningham (4) and Joshua Burgoyne (5) again ran some good lines and linked well bagging nine tries between them. In the centres James Close had a strong all round game, as did Daniel Wonnacott (2) who scored a fine individual sniping try along the touchline.Wings Charlie Glanville (1) and James Stevens had tidy games holding their positions to good effect. Up front Saul Holliday (1) and Jake Laing-Taylor frustrated the Cockles by stealing their possesion from mauls. Sonny Luxton had some strong runs, as did Joshua McCulloch (2) whose strength was outstanding throughout. Cole Pengelly (1) and Harry Laing-Taylor (1) both had strong tackling games, with Cole making some good line breaks. Josh Parsons and Hayleigh Shaw had steady games, while Robert Whitby and Liam Daintree cleaned up loose ball well. Matthew Denning carried the ball with more purpose while George Cox made good tackles and running. All in all this was a very clinical performance by the young Okes, but credit must also go to a tough tackling Cockles side.
