IN the Tavistock Snooker League Conservative C went down to a heavy
4-1 defeat at the hands of a fast improving West Devon D.
An in-form Hooper waltzed past Con C's Wilkinson, who occasionally displayed some good long potting skills, but was beaten by good all-round play. The second frame between West Devon's Decieco and Con C's Hoare saw Hoare put together a run of four good snookers, to finally run out a winner. Con C's Neale made some potting errors to lose against WDD's Shrimpton in an otherwise entertaining frame.
Angie Ward and May squared up for what was predicted to be a long saga. Angie Ward took an early lead against May and the it went down to the pink ball for the latter to take the frame for West Devon. The final frame between Shoulders and Bellamy saw an excellent display of potting by Shoulders, who ran out an easy winner despite some good defensive play by Bellamy.
Despite Conservative Z fielding arguably their strongest available team against Con A, the Z's finely crafted game plan was put through the shredder by the A team steamroller who won 4-1.
Fitzsimmons for Con Z team met Carruthers, who notched up a majestic 78 points. Jankowski for Con Z team who lost to the unflinching Tommy Evans. Ian Longden for Con A team presented Steve Hall with his first defeat of the season. Phil Mansfield for Con Z lost out to Con A's Folley with a display of destructive potting.
Symonds for Con Z stepped forward and turned a near complete rout into a tactical withdrawal.
