WEST Devon D regained their temporarily vacated top spot in the Tavistock snooker league with a solid 4-1 win over West Devon B.

Murton put West Devon D one up as he overran a lethargic Rich (senior) with plenty more to spare.

The ‘timeless’ May continued the D team’s bright start with a customary low scoring winning frame over Hart to stretch their lead to two.

Three up for the D team came with Shrimpton (junior) edging out Toland in the closest of frames. Toland though, on his debut game this season, should feel pleased with his performance, against one of the better potters in the league.

Hoare provided one of the few bright moments of the evening for West Devon B team as he took the frame off Shoulders in yet another close game.

Pinkney topped the evening for West Devon D team with an easy win over Rich (junior) to grab four points for his team.

The local derby between Conservative B and Conservative C saw two teams still struggling to get any momentum going this season. Ben Crowl drew first blood for Con C as he overcame McKechnie.

Con B were soon level with Maloney taking advantage of a late foul on the blue from Pete Crowl; this was, however, no more than his solid potting game deserved.

Con C skipper Jago started well against Ewings and was level until a few mistakes crept into his game which the latter capitalised on and eventually sprinted over the line.

Dodd for Con C did not make much of an impression on Monk, who made light work of the frame to secure the match for Con B.

In the final frame Neal played a solid game, keeping Con B’s Lillicrap quiet to pull in a valuable point in Con C’s relegation battle.
