EARLIER this month local runners had a well earned rest and got together to share a meal and homemade cake to celebrate the end of big running events.

The runners from Bere Alston Trekkers (Bats) and Tavistock Athletics have run a total of 556 miles which have been spread across The Cub, The Grizzly, The London Marathon, The Taunton Marathon, The Edinburgh Marathon and The Dartmoor Discovery raising a lot of money for charity in the process. Some members have run more than one event and one has run three of these events.
