TREVOR Williams has been presented with Tavistock Athletic Club's Athlete of the Month award.

In August Trevor competed in the Indian Queens Half Marathon, finishing in a time of 1hour 49minutes and 02seconds, to gain a diamond award and fourth position in his male 65+ age category.

Since the race, Trevor has been dogged by injury and has had to cancel his plans to compete in the Dartmoor Vale marathon. Now he is back to light training, along with his new running partner, Polly, a blue merle collie.

Trevor said that he is 'enjoying running in the wonderful countryside that we have around Tavistock' and as soon as he is able he plans to run from Tavistock to Saltram on the new cycle trail. Future race plans include a February half marathon at his son's home town of Grannolliers, in Spain.

Trevor is an experienced coach with TAC, and members of the club all wish him well and look forward to having him back.
