WEST DEVON yachtsman Angus McPhie and his crew of eight in the yacht Wave Warrior won the Plymouth regatta in IRC division one. The regatta involved more than 60 yachts in eight different classes. The race area was south of the breakwater in Plymouth Sound and the event was run by the Royal  Western Yacht Club. The regatta took place over three days in light and variable conditions. The wind was continually changing direction making it difficult for the race officer and competitors . Wave Warrior achieved five firsts and two third places to win by a narrow margin from yacht Altura helmed by Chris Davidson, director of Ullman sails.
