Carlsberg South West Peninsular division one East Appledore 5 Okehampton Argyle 0 OKEHAMPTON Argyle made the trip to Appledore for this early evening fixture missing eight members of their first team squad, five of whom would have definitely started had they been available. Despite incessant early pressure from Appledore the Argyle defence were holding firm until the 15th minute when Jamie Frickleton rose unchallenged to head home Sam Fishwick's corner to put the hosts into the lead. That lead was doubled five minutes later when Brian Levein broke clear and his cut back into the visitors' penalty area was met by Danny Jenkins, who finished with aplomb. Okehampton slowly began to get a foothold in the game with Luke Alden causing the Appledore defence a few problems down the right, without really creating any clear goal scoring opportunities. After being 2-0 down at the break, Argyle started the second half brightly, but the game was turned on its head in the 55th minute when Oli Crimmins received a second yellow card to leave the visitors down to ten men. Worse was to follow, as five minutes later, Argyle's Luke Alden had to come off injured and was replaced by Steve Madge, but who found himself booked for entering the field of play without permission and sent him to the side lines. With Madge still on the touchline and Argyle now down to nine men, Appledore broke away and scored their third goal courtesy of a close range finish from Danny Jenkins. By now, a frustrated Okehampton side had lost their shape and Appledore added two more goals in the closing stages with Danny Jenkins completing his hat-trick and James Marsh firing a fifth into the top corner with the last kick of the game to complete the rout.
