Warminster ladies 7

North Tawton ladies 34

ON a wide and firm pitch North Tawton were up for their final away game of the season from the kick-off. With great momentum captain Clare Hooper went over in the corner within a couple of minutes to stun the home side.

A lot of dropped ball from both sides made the game scrappy until the ball got to Tawton's Hayley Hopkins who jinked through the Warminster defence for the second score.

This settled North Tawton who started to push forward, until Dawn Avery dropped the ball. Fortunately for the visitors Warminster had encroached off side and from the awarded penalty the ball was spun through the backs for Lottie Trerise to score - leaving the half time score 15-0 to the visitors.

The second half saw North Tawton making much of the play allowing Hayley to run in the second of her tries, which was converted by Dawn Avery.  Playing mainly in the Warminster half Hayley produced an excellent third try taking the long route, snaking from one side of the pitch to the other to avoid the opposition for her third try.  She finished North Tawton's scoring when the ball was spun from a good solid scrum through the backs for Dawn Avery to convert.

Warminster then worked a good try from their full back which was converted.

In the dying minutes Tawton sub Lucy Cleve stepped onto the pitch for the last minute meaning not only a win for North Tawton but also allowing them to claim the bonus point

North Tawton tries: Lottie Trerise, Clare Hooper, Hayley Hopkins 4;   conversions Dawn Avery 2.
