 A SOLID team performance and a first clean sheet of the season saw Yelverton Villa progress to round three against in-form league three side, Star Garage.

In a cagey first half both teams worked hard to create openings, but few goal scoring opportunities materialised as both the defences came out on top. 

Star Garage had more of the possession in the second half and produced some fine saves from Mike Ball in the Villa goal, but it was Yelverton who broke the deadlock on the hour mark, with a superb counter attack and a fine finish from Ben Maughan. 

Villa were reduced to 10 men for the last 15 mins, and Star Garage pressed forward relentlessly in search of an equaliser, but Adam Measom was dominant in the air and Villa remained solid at the back and held on to secure the victory.
