TAVISTOCK Athletic Club’s Andy Houghton must have been feeling on ‘top of the world’ as he approaches the top of High Street (2,718 feet) in the Lake District in the Kentmere Horseshoe Fell Race last month.
He had reached the summit of High Street in the same time as last year (1 hour 25 minutes) but it took him 12 minutes longer to get back. Resulting in a second plus 70 years-old position with three entrants in his race category.
Andy said: ‘I hope the photo does convey the fabulous experience that running in the mountains can give —especially on a clear day unfettered by a whole lot of heavy gear.’
