Okehampton U16s 45

Tiverton U16s 0

ON a pitch not suitable for running rugby, both sets of forwards competed for control of the centre of the field. With Tiverton playing down the hill with the wind behind them Okehampton struggled to contain them but from a line-out in the Tiverton half Oke won the ball for Luke S to chip the defence and Kieran to run through to touch down in the corner; it was converted by Luke S in swirling wind.

The play continued with Oke still coming second best to the loose ball, being turned over on numerous occasions until the introduction of Jack who helped regain possession and momentum against a well drilled Tiverton side.

Oke doubled their score on the half time whistle after the forwards provided a platform for Will to score in the corner.

In the second half with the hill and the wind in their favour Oke found it easier to break Tiverton's defence, and from a lineout Jack burst through to steal the ball for Callum to score. This was followed by Oke engaging all the oppositions pack to give space for Luke L from a ruck to score.

As the forwards began to dominate with some strong tackles from Paddy, Callum and George, further tries were scored by Callum, Will and Kyler. Luke Simmons converted five of the seven tries.
