Stonehouse

Sharks U15s 21

Tavistock U15s 29

SPECTATORS were treated to a fast flowing and highly contested match despite the hot conditions.

Tavistock ran the ball straight from the kick-off but after losing possession to the powerful Stonehouse forwards they were soon 7-0 down. Tavistock stuck to their game plan, and it paid dividends with quick passing giving space to Ben Milligan to score two tries on the left wing.

Stonehouse looked to starve Tavistock of possession and strong driving play earned them a second score, which their number 10 converted. With Theo Cousins tackling his heart out and Chris Watts dictating play from fly half Tavistock just about kept parity with the home side and the Tavistock backs continued to look dangerous in open field.

Ethan Lamerton made a break through the defensive line from centre and rounded the last defender with a neat dummy and side step, scoring under the posts. George Hillson, who was a thorn in the oppositions side all game, converted the score.

Stonehouse refused to be beaten and worked their way up the pitch to score a third converted try. The last ten minutes saw Tavistock re-took the lead. With the Stonehouse side looking for further running from the away teams back line number eight James Lewis drove over from the base of a five metre scrum.

Tavistock made sure of the win with the last play of the game and more good interplay and handling saw space created for Ben Milligan to complete his hat-trick; George Hillson added the extra two.
