ON Sunday, eight members of the Bere Alston Trekkers raced at the Burrator 10K hosted by Somethingwildevents.

This was a fast, flat route in stunning surroundings that is almost all on tarmac and perfect for a personal best. Starting just south east of the visitor centre, competitors complete one loop of the reservoir and then two thirds of a second loop before finishing at exactly 10K about 300 metres from the event headquarters at the visitor centre. This course enjoys just 113 metres of elevation, and is therefore ideal for fun runners and beginners as well as experienced runners striving for a personal best.

The first man over the line for the BATs was Ben Saul in 56 minutes 33 seconds and the first lady was Tanya Argue in 59.36 with PBs for both.

The other BATs close on their heels were Debbie Ashton 1.02.09, Natasha Hingston 1.02.10, Shaun Hingston 1.02.45 Paul Ashton 1.02.47, Trevor Ralph 1.04.52, Sam Harte-Latremouille 1.05.36 and Eleanor Ralph 1.07.16.
