TAVISTOCK's opening game against Okehampton was a great display of junior rugby by both sides at the U10s Devon county festival held at Devonport Services.
A fiercely contested game of tackles and ruck sand counter rucks ensued with the Tavistock pack - Harry Richardson, Noah Berridge and Jack Bellamy providing their backs with some good possession allowing their side to run in three tries by Bellamy, James Kenyon and Henry Varndell-Dawes scoring with the last play of the game.

TAVISTOCK continued their form with strong rucking from the pack again with great work at the back of the ruck by scrum half Dan Pett and prop Reuben Coleman both picking up and distributing well.
Ollie Sampson, Henry Varndell-Dawes (2), Harry Edwards and Noah Berridge crossing the line after strong running and patient recycling work from whole team.

OPM did not let Tavistock settle and there were no tries in first half - just aferocious tackling and rucking contest. In the second half Tavistock stepped up a gear with tries from Harry Richardson and Henry Varndell-Dawes.

IN the semi-final Tavistock carried on their agressive rucking and scrummaging and use of width. A hat trick for Henry Varndell-Dawes and a penetrating run from Ollie Sampson complete the scoring. Dan Pett and Jack Bellamy making try saving tackles on the wing to keep Kingsbridge out

Teignmouth U10s 15
IN the final Tavistock scored within a minute of kick off through recycling and Henry Varndell-dawes' eye for a gap. Another hard tackling and rucking game unfolded with Teignmouth equalising, only for James Kenyon to drop onto a loose ball in the in goal area. But a penalty try and a last minute try down the wing gave Teigmouth the cup.
