TWELVE swimmers from Tavistock Swimming Club competed in the Devon County Championships, which took place at the Plymouth Life Centre.

Although it was early in the season the swimmers swam in 58 events, achieving 32 personal best times, 42 top 10 positions, 9 age group finals, and 6 championship finals.

The six championship finals were achieved by Cameron McGurk, who was seventh in the 50m butterfly, Harriet Edwards eighth in the 200m breaststroke and Kieran Rookes was third in the 100m, fifth in the 200m breaststroke, seventh in the 50m breaststroke and seventh in the 100m individual medley.

Age-group finals were achieved by James Anderson — first in the 200m butterfly; Emily France, fifth in the 200m butterfly; Jake France, sixth in the 200m freestyle, eighth in the 100m butterfly and sixth in the 100m IM; Amber Francis, fourth in the 100m breaststroke and fifth in the 200m breaststroke; Cameron McGurk, seventh in the 100m breaststroke and Sarah Teague, fifth in the 100m breaststroke.

The swimmers from Tavistock Swimming Club, who competed at the Devon Championships were James Anderson, Gemma Arundel, Jessamy Clemens, Harriet Edwards, Emily France, Jake France, Alex Francis, Amber Francis, Cameron McGurk, George Morgan, Kieran Rookes and Sarah Teague.
