TAVISTOCK secured their third win of the season to move on to nine points and joint first in the league.

Both teams started well playing some fast flowing hockey but it was Tavistock who converted their  chances into the first goal. Captain Laura Armstrong gave Tavistock the lead with a well struck penalty corner. Exe increased their pressure on the home side's goal without any luck and instead were caught on the break by a counter attacking Tavistock side.

Midway through the second half Exe scored from a well worked penalty corner; the home side almost hit back within 30 seconds but forward Sarah Law was denied by the post. After fine defending from Jenny Pollock the home side mounted another attack which captain Armstrong converted with a well taken reverse stick shot following a great pass from midfielder Emma White. Players of the match were Laura Armstrong and Susannah Boulle.
