Plainmoor ladies 2

Tavistock CFC ladies 3

THIS league encounter began evenly and fast paced with both teams quite unsettled.

Once Tavistock settled they gained more possession and they soon went ahead against the Torquay side. Tavistock's midfield of Els Mills-Hicks and Donna Weeks worked hard to win the ball; Weeks slipped it out to Sarah Blowey on the left wing, whose superb cross met the head of Donna Hone who headed it into the back of the net. Player of the match Sarah Martin also worked hard to keep the Plainmoor defence on their toes. Tavistock's work rate remained high with their passing around the field, however, they missed several opportunities to put them further ahead.

Plainmoor broke though on a few occasions and worked Tavistock's defence of Tania Coker, Carleigh Bammens, Lauren Schuttkacker and Laura Phillips hard.

After half time Plainmoor came out guns blazing determined to keep Tavistock from their unbeaten run; however, Tavistock remained solid and Zoe Stock pulled off some superb saves.

Tavistock scored their second when a flick on from Anja Specht into the path of Blowey, on the right wing, ended with a pass to Jo Harris who proceeded to hit home, putting Tavistock further ahead.

Plainmoor came straight back at Tavistock, and an own goal put them back in the game. Soon after their second followed with Tavistock unable to keep the ball from going in the goal. However, it was Tavistock's  determination, superb teamwork and fitness carried them through.

The fresh legs of Becky Turner helped Tavistock to get their third goal, when she went through on the right to drill the ball across the goal for Sarah Blowey to put the visitors back in the lead and remain unbeaten in the league.
