Mid Somerset 3
Okehampton 3
TOP of the league Mid Somerset started brightly at Wells and despite having only ten men at the start won a short corner and convert to take the lead.
Oke struggled to get any momentum and with the hosts back to their full eleven they scrambled home a second after 20 minutes.
The away side tried to rally and started to look more threatening, the home side keeper making two brilliant saves to deny Mark Parsons and then Chris Luxton with the follow up.
The home side then thought they had killed Oke off with a third five minutes before half time, but the visitors went up the other end and converted a short corner to give themselves hope with Rob Hall tapping home after Luke Miller and Luxton were foiled again by the keeper.
After half time Okehampton reduced the lead when Parsons drew the keeper and squared it to Luxton he slotted the ball into an empty net.
The away side continued to apply the pressure. Martin Jones picked up a stray pass and found Parsons who beat his man before finding Luxton who flicked the ball over the keeper to equalise.
The game was end to end and but for some brilliant defender and keeping from Andy Harvey the home side could have won it. This was a superb result for Okehampton.
