Tavistock 11
Torbay 1
TAVISTOCK took another step towards their target of a perfect league season with this home win against Torbay — it was the Reds’ 21st league win from 21 games.
The home side raced into an early lead thanks to Mark Forshaw, from that point on the result was never in danger and the only question being asked was how many goals would the home side score?
Although Tavistock were not at their best they were certainly good enough to convincingly beat their match day opponents who they face again in two weeks time in the Devon Trophy semi final.
The score at half time was 4-0, goals from Megicks 2 and Fenwick added to Forshaw’s opener.
The second half followed a similar pattern to the first half with the home side producing a number of attempts on goal and with less than five minutes remaining Tavistock were leading 8-1 but continued to press Torbay and managed to score another three goals.
Tavistock goals were scored by Megicks 3, Richards 2, Fenwick 2, Carr, Forshaw, D Stanbury and Jones.
