A SPECIAL trophy and laptop has been presented to the ladies of Tavistock Golf Club, thanks to their efforts in a national stableford competition.
Ninety players from 26 clubs all over Devon were at the DCLGA's silver meeting at Tavistock Golf Club to see the presentation.
A spokesperson for Tavistock Golf Club said: 'Every year there is a nation wide stableford competition in which ladies sections are invited to play called the EWGA Trust — this is to raise money for grants to help girls start and stay in golf.
'Founded over 30 years ago, it has helped many girls to play and benefit from the sport. Clubs are asked to make donations based on the points scored by the top ten players in their competition.
'Tavistock scored a very impressive 388 pts to become the top club in England!'
It was agreed that the presentation could made at the DCLGA's Silver Meeting.
