TAVISTOCK'S celebrated half marathon, the Tavy 13, takes place on March 30 and entries are still pouring in for this challenging but scenic road race around Tavistock and the surrounding country lanes. Organised by Tavistock Athletic Club the race would not be possible without the hard work of so many club volunteers and the sponsors.

Allan Herdman, from Tavistock Athletic Club said: 'Estate agents Gibbs Kirby are a superb sponsor and a pleasure to work with. Not only have they sponsored this event for the last two years but they have also supported our other main road race, the Tavy 7 since 2012.'

 The Tavy 13 also incorporates the Primary Schools Challenge with more than 200 local primary school children completing their own 13.1 mile half marathon. They run a mile a week in the preceding 12 weeks and run their final mile on the day of the half marathon finishing on the athletics track at Tavistock College.
