Tavistock firsts 7
Isca C 1
TAVISTOCK mens' first team continued their impressive start to the season with a comfortable 7-1 victory over Exeter-based, Isca C.
Tavistock produced a near faultless display of possession hockey in the first half leading to a 5-0 lead at the whistle.
Swift attacks and clinical finishing added gloss to a dominant display.
Man of the match Simon Fenwick scored a hat-trick, ably assisted by Tom Honey (2) with Ollie Richards also on the score sheet.
Ollie was constant threat on the right wing with his pace, balanced nicely by Fraser Bayliss on the left. Sam and Dom Stanbury effectively broke up Isca's play and added a dynamic attacking threat. Andy Berry produced another solid display in midfield with great distribution and vision.
The Tavistock defence of Dale Wood, Paul Marchant, Tom Hanson and Rory Carr, playing out of position at left back, effectively neutralised any Isca attacks . Keeper Matt Grahame had little to do, making two regulation saves the entire match. However Matt and Tom conspired to gift Isca a consolation goal by not playing to the whistle.
Another three points keeps Tavistock at the top of the table.
