TAVISTOCK boxer Theo Evans took his first step into the ring on March 24.

Theo and coaches Grant Metters and Andy Trebilcock travelled to Bideford where the fighter faced the well supported home boxer Will Fishleigh.

This was a very even contest and both boxers strove to control the contest. Difficult to judge, in the end it came down to the last part of the final round and which boxer had the motivation and energy to finish strongest.

Theo showed great determination and dug deep to secure the victory by a majority decision.
