TAVY Runners took advantage of the clear skies and almost full moon earlier this month by running high up on the moor.

Tavy Runners have been running off-road every Wednesday evening since the beginning of April and will continue through the winter — weather permitting.

Group spokesman Andy Houghton said: 'We aim to improve running techniques, overall endurance and are keen to try new ideas. Off-road running for endurance is recommended for improving strength, balance and co-ordination and may reduce impact injuries. TavyRunners are running on easy trails but use large flat areas of grass for more intensive work.

'Runs usually start at a different place each week with the location given at short notice to make sure the weather will be suitable.'
