Chagford 2

CHAGFORD will look back on this game, that saw the end of their ten match unbeaten run and possibly their promotion hopes, with a mixture of disappointment and frustration.
Disappointment at too many players having an 'off' day, and frustration with the way they were allowed little time or space on the ball.
For the first 20 minutes the traffic was one way, towards the Clyst goal, though the hosts failed to take full advantage of the possession they had. Chagford eventually had the ball in the net only to see, frustratingly, the flag raised for off-side.
Clyst Valley played their way back into the game only to see deputy 'keeper, Tom Pengelly, on form for the home side. It took a sweetly struck pass from Stone, in the 34th minute, to set up Miller who deftly lobbed the ball over Clyst's goalkeeper to open the scoring.
Valley urged themselves forward and closed the half on the up, hitting the Chagford crossbar and just firing wide.
Pengelly was called upon to make an early second half save and Vincent's chip nearly caught out the Valley 'keeper soon after.
The visitors had the Chagford goal in sight and there was little surprise when Langmaid found a 67th minute equaliser. Within a minute, full-back Jaime Gill had put Chagford back in front with a deflected shot.
Play at this point was sweeping from end to end with opportunities available to both teams. Langmaid again restored parity, outrunning the home defence to score comfortably.
Chagford tried to raise their spirits but, with time running out, Pinot found himself free to head home the visitors' winner.
