THIS promised to be a competitive game on Saturday with both teams aiming for the top spot. Okehampton started well and heaped the pressure onto the Dart’s defence.

There was some superb midfield play from Lucy Wiseman and Molly Marvin in the centre, which allowed the attackers to get shots on goal.

The first goal came from a great run from L Wiseman who, with Emily Rowlands, turned and hit at goal. The strike was saved by the keeper but Elly Jenkins, was able to follow up and score a well earned score. Despite all the attacking pressure at half time the score remained 1-0.

After half time, Dart came back with determination and speed, but they could not break Oke’s solid defence. As their legs tired, Okehampton kept working and a beautiful solo break from Rowlands saw her cut through the Darts’ defence and create and score a fantastically controlled goal. There were further goals from Hannah Whitely and Elly Jenkins. Great work rate and commitment for the ball saw Okehampton finish the game 4-0 up. It was a fabulous team effort to the end. Oke are now sat five points clear at the top of Petroc one.
