TAVY A inflicted only the second defeat of the season on Conservative A in the Tavistock Snooker League with a thoroughly deserved win on Thursday.

Tavy A's Hicks played a superb game to control then blunt a late Evans comeback, with Ryall stretched their lead with his normal silky snooker to make short work of Folley. Bell pulled the Con A's back into the game with some solid late potting to overcome Hoar, only for Woods to keep enough balls on the table to overcome Longden and provide the win for Tavy A. Carruthers with a 26 break reduced the deficit for the Con As with a one sided game against Horrell but alas it was too late as Tavy A ran out 3-2 winners.

Conservative Z gave second place West Devon A a run for their money as they only went down 2-3.

The first frame was a rather turgid affair with West Devon's Hall eventually prevailing over Palmer. Symons struck a vein of form at last to take out West Devon's Taylor, with Rich restoring his sides lead in an entertaining high scoring game against a Fitzsimmons who gave a good account of himself.

The win was sealed for West Devon as in form Emptage took out Morton, a 25 break doing the damage. The Con Z team reduced the arrears with a gritty performance form Dodd over Heathman and a 21 break for Dodd being a nice reward for his endeavours.
