ON Sunday, Tavistock Athletic Club juniors had their third Sportshall of the season. Thirty juniors turned up to the Life Centre in Plymouth to compete against nine other clubs from all over Devon.

All did well with TAC fielding a few new juniors who had never competed before. They were nervous but went out and enjoyed themselves.

Two juniors both smashed records in the javelin — 19 metres was a new record for the U10s  Hayden James, who broke his record from meeting two in November.

Edward Mills broke a seven year-old record for the U11’s javelin, going more than 18 metres.

TAC juniors’ next sportshall is on February 28 at the Life Centre. On February 27 at Torbay Leisure Centre, four juniors are representing Devon at the regionals — Tayla James in the U13 girl, Sarah Bull and Jenny Milburn in the U15 girls and Benjamin Rogers in the U15s boy.
