TAVISTOCK Cricket Club president Stuart Munday welcomed South African fast bowler Travis Muller to the club for the coming season.  Travis, aged 20, has been with Western Province Academy in Cape Town since the age of 13.

He has represented South Africa under 19s against Pakistan and India and, last year, was voted the Western Province young player of the year.  His aim is to play international cricket for South Africa in the future.

The director of coaching at Western Province, Wayne Myers, sees Travis as an exceptionally good fast bowler and extremely good batsman – and his bowling has been timed at almost 90 miles per hour.  Wayne sees him continuing to grow, not only as a cricketer, but also as a person.

Tavistock also have Rhys Davies back this year from premier side Exmouth and Stuart sees this as what could be a very good season for the club.
