PLYMOUTH and District Tennis League hosted their annual awards dinner at the Duke of Cornwall Hotel in Plymouth last week.
Several Tavistock league teams and players were recognised for their contribution to the sport.
The men's A team celebrated dominating division one — once again winning the cup and merit awards. John White accepted merit awards on behalf of the men's D and E teams who were promoted. Katie Hine accepted a merit award on behalf of the ladies C team, which was also promoted. All three teams came second in their respective divisions.
Wendy George won a merit award for winning 92% of sets of tennis played for the ladies C team. Fizz Ward was not far behind, winning 78% of sets played.
The Hospice Cup, an opportunity to raise money for The Children's Hospice South West, will take place at Tavistock on Saturday, November 10 and the mixed doubles final is scheduled for Saturday, November 17.
The club's annual Christmas dinner will be held at Tavistock Golf Club on Saturday, November 24.
