DIVERSITY can be a welcome change which was the case for a trio of Tavistock Run Project athletes this week.
At the Trio of Tors race on Dartmoor last week, Ollie Smart made light of the murky conditions to appear out of the mist victorious. Running strongly a little further down the field were Dan Pearce and Craig Howells, the latter returning after a lengthy injury.
The TRP runners competed in more familiar terrain when on Saturday Jim Cole destroyed the field at the Tavy 5 beating his own course record despite a fall on the slippery surface recording 15 minutes 40 seconds. Meanwhile Dan Pearce, three days after his fell running exploits, set a new personal best of 18.52 for a 10th place finish. Ahead of him in sixth was Ed Smart in 18.06 while Don Ladell posted a time of 21.02 in 22nd place.
