IN one of her very last duties as Tavistock Rugby Club junior chairman, Mhairi McCall and club secretary Jeff Lawson formally received the RFU Seal of Approval and CLUBMARK accreditations from Rob Masters, the RFU Development officer for Devon.

After receiving the junior Seal of Approval last year, the club now has whole club accreditation.

This is the result of a lot of hard work put in by club volunteers to increase the number of certified club coaches, referees, first aiders and CRB checked volunteers.

The club's 10 junior squads, three girl's squads and four senior squads are all benefitting from a well set up and safe club that these awards represent.

Registration for season 2012/13 begins on September 1 at Tavistock Rugby Club, Sandy Park for all mini/junior players from age 6-15 for mixed squads and age 10-17 for girls' squads.

Mhairi said: 'Come and join a friendly community sports club, you will be made most welcome.'
