Duchy ladies 5
Tavistock ladies 3
TAVISTOCK Ladies firsts had to fight hard from the first whistle this week against Duchy in Trelawny division one.
Scoring opened within 10 minutes with Duchy moving the ball quickly through the Tavistock defence to make it 1-0.
Tavistock fought back, moving the ball through the midfield of Honey, Armstrong, Mills-Hicks and Bruna, eventually enabling a clean strike from centre forward Abi Hall who pulled it back to 1-1.
Despite the strong tackles from Evans, Passmore and Boulle and several diving saves from keeper Viggers the score moved to 3-1 at half time to Duchy.
Tavistock came back fighting to level the scores at 3-3 with 15 minutes to go, following a square ball from Colston to Honey who struck it past the Duchy keeper at pace and a hard strike from Claire Bruna.
End to end play and constant pressing from Duchy resulted in two further goals to the away side.
The Duchy side now take the top spot in the league.
