ALTHOUGH played at Okehampton this was technically a home game for Tavistock ladies who ‘borrowed the pitch’ for the game.

The teams met for another enthusiastic local derby match. Okehampton were quick off the starting whistle but Tavistock’s midfield Amy Headon and George Patterson were strong and did not allow Okehampton to push through. 

Excellent runs from Tavistock’s youngest players down the wing enabled Tavistock to score their first two goals. Amy Headon scored Tavistock’s first goals, shortly followed by Laura Armstrong who scored a cracking lifted goal into the back board.  

Tavistock keeper Maddie Jones proved unbeatable when Okehampton was awarded a scoring opportunity in the first half. Jones ran out and cleared the ball wide preventing any Okehampton goals being scored.

Tavistock’s third goal came from Laura Armstrong who sneakily crossed the ball square across the keeper allowing Jamie Bulbring to finish the goal. Janice Scott, Tavistock’s captain, scored the final goal from a short corner. The ball was passed at top D to Scott who smashed it into the back of the goal.
