CARADON ladies were first on the attack at Lux Park, immediately pressuring the Tavistock back line.

A solid tackle from Katy Kelly turned possession over to Tavistock; captain Laura Armstrong picked up the cleared ball from Kelly in the middle of the pitch and passed to attacker Lamb who drove to the base line and popped the ball up for Armstrong who smoothly put the ball past the keeper to make it 1-0 to the visitors.

Caradon, undeterred, maintained a strong pace on their attacks, which were broken down by Pollock, Mills-Hicks and Langsford who tackled and laid off to the midfield.

The second goal followed from a drive up the right from Hannah Colston, who passed the ball to Lamb; she once again found Armstrong, who slammed the ball into the top of the net after a deflection off the keeper's glove. The visitors went into the interval leading by 2-0.

The Caradon girls started the second half with several strong passes and big hits through to their forward line but each time these were cut out by Tavistock, who worked in pairs to close down the attacks. Midfielders Kelly, Payne and Fenwick took control of the middle with quick transfers up to attackers White, Gaspar and Lamb.

One strike from White, deflected several times back to Robynne Fenwick, who had placed herself perfectly at the top of the D to give herself time to set up and strike the ball hard into the top of the net, made it 3-0 to Tavistock.

Caradon continued to pressure with a short corner to the home team quickly following from a Tavistock foot in the D.

Keeper Viggers took control with the defensive line, who were able to clear the fierce strike onto Viggers.

Another attack from Caradon followed which again sent keeper Viggers diving for the ball and covering as it rolled off the back line from a determined Caradon.

A final counter attack from Tavistock was rewarded with a penalty corner, which went wide of the post. A loose ball picked by Payne found Lamb who drove to the back line and popped the ball to a waiting Armstrong, who converted the opportunity. This brought the score to 4-0 with the final whistle following shortly afterwards.

This was a deserved result for Tavistock brought about by a solid team effort over a strong Cornish side.
