THERE was high scoring at the men's Guest Day at Tavistock Golf  Club but Dean Dickerson and his guest Mark Vinnicombe took the honours with 45 pts on countback from Brian Goble and his guest Tom White. In third Place was Rob Jarman and Alan Montier with 43 pts. 

The best front nine were Matt Boon and Ben Philpotts on 24pts; best back 9, Peter Leverton and Graham Lapthorne 23pts.  Graham was also nearest the pin on the fourth and David Russell on the 10th.

In the ladies Wycisk Cup and Medal first, in division one with nett 70 and winner of the cup, was Fran Horton. Second Dawn Phillott nett 76 and third was Maggie Hillman nett 79 on countback from Wendy George. In division two Pat Taylor had a nett 74, second Alison West nett 78 and, in third place, Marion Stenhouse with nett 79 on countback from Ann Dawson. 

The annual competition for the Caddies Trophy was played in conjunction with the monthly Stableford.  Open to all the ladies who caddied in the county matches the trophy is always highly prized and this year's winner was Gail Reed with 37pts.  Liz Lyndon topped division one with 36pts on countback from Gilly Jarvis and Dawn Phillott.  Gail was first in division two with 37pts, second Peggy Burge 36 pts and third Alison West with 34pts on countbaack from Marion Stenhouse. Dorothy Cotton had 34pts in division three, second Barbara Porter 31pts, third Myra Sussex 29pts on countback from Ann Dawson.

Warm sunshine and blue skies were enjoyed by players in the Foster Ferries four ball better ball.  The winners were Matt Boon and Alan Gawman with 43 pts, second Mark Ingram and Kevin Lethbridge 42 pts,  third were Richard Rowe and Rob Staniland.
