DIVISION one of Okehampton and District Table Tennis League saw Bridestowe take on Tavistock.
In a hard fought match Mark Tancock scored his fifth maximum but it was not enough as Tavistock went on to win 6-4, with Roger Bowkett and John Cheung winning two singles each and Peter Hicks with one.
Tavistock won the doubles for their last match of the season, eleven points ahead of Okehampton A who have three matches on hand.
The next match Bridestowe played Milton Abbot. Mark Tancock again scored a maximum, Phil Down scored two, Francis Griffiths with one.
Bridestowe won the doubles for a 7-3 win. Otilia Pochat won two singles for Milton Abbot, with Tim Westcott scoring one.
Bridestowe have two more matches to play.
Tim Westcott took Phil Down to five legs in his second singles, just losing out 11-9 in the fifth. Ian Osborne was unlucky when he lost to Francis Griffiths 11-9 also in the fifth leg.
In division two Horrabridge finished the season with a 10-0 win against Okehampton B with Horrabridge 8-0 ahead. Raz Wilson took Jill Northey to five legs in a hard fought game just losing out 3-2. This win puts Horrabridge into second place in the league table, the only team that could catch them is Okehampton C who are 19 points behind with two games in hand.
It might take several weeks to complete both leagues as the Pretoria Handicap Cup matches (which began March 3) will be on for at least three weeks.
