IN Division one of the Okehampton and District Table Tennis League, Tavistock were at home to Bridestowe.
In the first game Mark Tancock put Bridestowe 1-0 ahead in a hard fought fifth leg win over Roger Bowkett. Tavistock then went 2-1 in front as Mark Bennett beat Mark Fogerty and Peter Hicks beat Francis Griffiths; Mark Tancock beat Mark Bennett to level at 2-2.
However, Tavistock took the next three to go 5-2 ahead. Mark Tancock completed a fine maximum beating Mark Bennett, and Francis Griffiths did well to beat Roger in the last two singles. Mark Bennett and Peter Hicks beat the two Marks 14-12 in the fourth leg for a 6-4 win for Tavistock.
Okehampton C were at home to North Wyke who went ahead when Enrique Cancer-Baerra beat Josh Parsons.
Oke C won the next four games — Emily Haskell beat Tom Misselbrook, Cameron beat Steve Granger, Emily beat Enrique and Josh beat Steve for a 4-1 lead.
North Wyke came back winning the next three to level at 4-4. Josh Parsons won the doubles for a fine 6-4 win.
Okehampton B were awarded the points over Milton Abbot A who could not raise a team.
Milton Abbot A played Horrabridge A. John Stewart put Horrabridge ahead against Ian Osborne and went on to win his next for another maximum. New player Adam Cornish, Alex Lewis and Ian Osborne won two singles and Adam and Alex won the doubles for a 7-3 win for Milton Abbot A.
In division two Anchorage A had another 10-0 win over Horrabridge B to take them 25 points clear of their rivals Anchorage B.
Milton Abbot B raced into a 6-0 lead against Horrabridge B before James Emery saved the whitewash when he did well to beat Ang Harod Bevan. Ang and Tom Doidge won the doubles against Lesley and James for a 9-1 win for Milton Abbot B, Tom Doidge and George Anderson both scoring maximums.
