TAVISTOCK Sir Francis Drake Bowling Club played host to 24 Bowls England players and their guests on May 20, the exact date the club was first formed 100 years ago. The day started with the Bowls England President Adie Lloyd formally opening the new clubhouse extension by unveiling a plaque on the outside of the building (pictured left), followed by a buffet lunch attended by the Mayor of Tavistock, Cllr Harry Smith, and Devon County councillor Debo Sellis. The afternoon saw six rinks playing very competitively with the visitors winning by 21 points overall. The day finished off with an evening meal in the clubhouse.
