Marjon D 1
Tavistock A 2
FOLLOWING the previous match against Camborne, where Tavistock started without any proper warm up and faced the consequences in the early part of the game; this time its benefit saw the visitors fight back for a deserved win.
Tavistock knew that they had to start stronger and get themselves into the game.
They began well with good control through the midfield of Aveyard and the Honey duo. The back line of Lethbridge, Cowen and Tosdevin looked in control and contained most of the breaks by the young Marjon attack.
The game was flowing from end to end but the chances that Tavistock were building were numerous and they certainly felt at half time that the score would come.
Captain Bradley gave a strong half time talk and it would appear that the words of wisdom had some impact. A short corner was won and the first goal strongly placed by Lethbridge.
The pressure really started to build up through the Tavistock midfield and with the mobility of the forwards causing problems another goal was tapped in by Tom Honey.
There could have been more goals to follow but having to rejig some positions meant that the visitors had a few players out of position.
Marjons capitalised on this and managed to score a goal of their own — somewhat against the run of play.
Tavistock dug in for a win and three well-earned points.
