Bude A 2

THIS was another great performance from Tavistock, who are fighting to stay in the league.

Tavistock are really starting to play some entertaining hockey and attacked from the start.

The linking game has really started to be the strength in the Tavistock team and with a weakened opposition, the home side was able to show this ability to its full.

The first goal was not long in coming after some fine work on the right by Honey senior moving well with Fenwick who gave a fine pass to the dynamic Elliott, who slotted home. This was the first of his four goals for the day and he is looking to be one of the top scorers this season.

Honey junior was showing some silky skills as usual and was like a whirling dervish in the visitors' D and numerous short corners were won as the Bude frustrations started to show. Fenwick scored two from the spoils.

Anning and Hanson were dominant in defence and both have an attacking mindset; this showed in abundance and added strength to the Tavistock attack.

Andrews and Venton both found themselves on the score sheet following some good team work, as did Hall, who has scored in both the home and away fixtures against Bude.

Tavistock did let in two goals which were a well taken shot from close in and a penalty flick. Both keepers, Osborne and Pugsley, enjoyed good solid games and commanded their Ds confidently.

Although this game was a superb result Tavistock are looking to face relegation but the style of play now on show is worthy of the division. Missing four key players, it just shows how the squad has improved in depth.
