TAVISTOCK is the winning division one team of the Okehampton and District Table Tennis League. After a draw between Academy and Anchorage A, runner up was Bridestowe which was just one point ahead of Academy.
The winning team was Fred Phillips, Peter Hicks, Roger Bowkett and Daniel Howell. Bridestowe was Mark Fogerty, Mark Tancock, Francis Griffiths and Phil Down.
There was one result in division two this week — Walkhampton played against Okehampton C. Ben Edmunds put Walkhampton 1-0 ahead against Richard Rose. Joe Egan made it 2-0 in a hard fought game against Ben Bolton. Okehampton then won the next six singles to league 6-2. Ben Edmunds won his second singles against Ben Bolton. Richard and Frank Cockburn won the doubles against Ben Edmunds and Chris Jackson for a 7-3 win to Okehampton C.
The winning division two team is Milton Abbot A with Anchorage B the runner-up.
Milton Abbot A players were Michael Blatchford, Otila Pochat, Ian Osborne and Tim Westcott.
Anchorage B was David Wilson, Dave Vanstone, Roger Gilbert and Jenny Gilbert.
The final games have not yet been completed. The division two league table could change, but the top two places are too far ahead to be caught.
